
NC CPS Update/Refresher Class

Information
Eligible Participants:
Current Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians
and Technician Instructors.
Maximum numbers of students may be set for individual classes. Registration and verification of participants' eligibility to attend are required for the Update/Refresher classes.
Objectives:
- To define the role of a CPS technician
- To identify 10 ways to better protect children and yourself
- To demonstrate an understanding of current child passenger safety best practices
- To review North Carolina’s Child Passenger Safety Law
- To become familiar with “real life” Tether/LATCH issues
- To recognize new products in the field
This Class Will:
- Provide current technicians with the opportunity to view new products and further improve skills
- Provide continuing education units (CEUs) for recertification.
This Class Will Not:
- This Class will not satisfy ALL requirements for recertification.
- Technicians will still need to complete 2 hours of clinic time or provide at least 4 hours of community education.
- These classes will NOT provide Technicians with the opportunity to have their skills verified by an instructor. Technicians will need to have seek out other opportunities to have their skills verified by an instructor.
Registration Fee:
There is no registration fee for attending North Carolina Update/refresher classes, but registration is required. On-site registrations will not be accepted without prior approval by the Lead Instructor.
